Apparently services that normally terminate at Katoomba are instead going to Mt Victoria today because of the Highways and roads being cut due to the heavy snow.

Not anymore...

Trains have been suspended on the Blue Mountains Line between Springwood and Lithgow due to signal equipment repairs at various locations as a result of snowfall in the area and reports of numerous fallen trees. Due to road closures in the area there are no alternative travel arrangements. Passengers are advised to delay their travel.

Blue Mountains weather impact

Posted: Friday 12 October 2012

Severe weather conditions, including snowfalls, have temporarily suspended trains between Katoomba and Lithgow.

For up to date information, Blue Mountains Line customers advised to go to the 131 500 and CityRail websites and listen to radio bulletins to determine travel plans this afternoon.

CityRail is working hard to restore services disrupted by trees fallen on tracks and trees sagging on power lines on the Blue Mountains Line.

Customers heading west on the line can expect delays and are advised to delay their travel.
