I spoke too soon, from the Auscision blog green windows now confirmed...

NSW RUB
Cars
Something we have been working on for a few years now. The NSWGR RUB
Passenger Cars. We have produced a couple of passenger sets for our Victorian
customers so we thought it was time to make something for the NSW guys. Release
dates and model information are still TBA, but what we can tell you is that the
models will have green effect windows and there are 20 different body versions
being produced to cover ever era from the original Venetian Red & Russet all
the way through to the Candy livery.

On Facebook Auscision have noted: Auscision Models "I would advise pre-ordering a RUB set when we release the order forms as we will only make limited numbers to fill orders and a small percentage for after delivery sales, which normally sell during the shipment process. Smile"

So when do people get to complain about window tinting? Before or after the models arrive?

This is great news.  I have a couple of initial questions.

1. Would the power vans have had tinted windows?

2. I wish to model the Northern Tablelands Express in about 1980.  Does anyone know if a specific Set No. was allocated to this service or was it just a mix of cars?

Cheers,

Ian

What is the meaning or intention of this post? Is it trolling or is there some deeper meaning that escapes me?

We have one supplier to the hobby who refuses to accept irrefutable proof that the windows in airconditioned cars were tinted green and a different supplier promising to develop cars with tinted windows. Are people going to complain about the one that has openly declared the windows will be tinted? I think not!

[edit]Tinting of the Eureka pass cars belongs in the Eureka thread - in fact better there citing Auscion's decision. MOD [/edit]

It is great news,

1. Am unsure that all, or some of the power van windows were tinted, but I do know that the platform loading lights (the two round lights either side of the sliding door) were not, the coloured drawing by Auscision shows them incorrectly tinted in all livery examples.

2. Am unsure on the composition for the 80's, but Auscision has put up some prototype info that may be of help?

RUB sets rarely ever worked that train after about 1960, when they were displaced by DEB set railcars.

Certainly around 1980 DEB sets were operating the Northern Tablelands Express.

I believe that rub sets did work the northern tablelands express in the 1980s at one point.  They were working on alternative days to the xpt service ( as in one xpt set was allocated to the service and the rub set was the opposing service). I have pix somewhere at the creek hauled by a 44   Not sure of the date.   Bob
