I seem to keep getting unsubscribed from threads I watch. I will be watching a thread and then a couple days later I will see it in the new posts and it has the 'watch this thread for replies' button at the bottom of the page. This has been going on since the launch of RP.3 for me and seems to have got worse since 3.5 was launched and 1 in 2 threads I watch I have to rewatched within a couple days. There seems to be no explaination of why I am suddenly unsubscribed from them, no error messages or anything. Has anyone else had this happen?
I have had the same thing happening since RP3 started. What I have put it down to is when someone deletes a post since my previous post (or clicking the watch function) it appears to break the "watching link"Well for mine, that's always happened when such conditions prevail right through Railpage's existence as a forum - yes for the last decade. It has ever been the way, someone deletes a post and bingo! you're unwatched. Dunno about the thread split, but suspect that applies too.
Also happens when a Mod splits a thread. Then I appear to be watching the 'new' split thread and not watching the original.

Looking at the TRN code the notifications are based on posts, and if a post is split into a different thread then that's where the notification comes from. It would also explain why you suddenly become unsubscribed from TRNs if posts are deleted.
I think I did mention it before, when we got the just succeeded version.
