the correct info.

Maintrain is dead - they lost the contract. but the site is own by the state with a new group running the site.

AMF is a large workshop - not a storage place. the storage or yards are being built see : http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/projects-auburn-stabling

Maintrain is dead? UGL stopped running the place?

and apologies for the AMF mistake

I'm confused. MainTrain was operated by UGL Rail. The "new name" for the site is "Unipart", which is... run by UGL Rail. MainTrain is very much not dead, it is just renamed. It is still commonly referred to as MainTrain as everyone knows what that is. It's the same with calling things "CityRail trains" or even "State Rail", it might be an incorrect name, but it doesn't matter as long as all parties understand what is being discussed.

You are correct in that AMF is a workshop, but it includes a stabling yard as part of that workshop, at the eastern end. You are also correct that capacity for a large number of trains is being built adjacent to it, but to say AMF is purely a workshop without stabling room is categorically incorrect.

So, lets see there, we have at least three overhauled V Sets with the new logo on them, with more coming. The logo has been rolled out across the entire Waratah fleet, and is now being applied to the Endeavour, OSCar and Tangara fleets. Still waiting to see any proof on this supposed lawsuit on the other hand...

I must have missed that bit! I recall reading an "ultimatum" in which an arbitrary date was selected at which point if no other logos had been applied, it would have "proven" the existence of such a lawsuit. Somehow.

I just thought I'd post an "update" for anyone interested. The Tangara with the new logos is T45, iirc. Same style as the OSCar logos, a small hop logo behind the cab. Couldn't see a Waratah "Operated by" logo on the set though. I'm not saying there isn't one, just that I didn't notice one!

The new Logos are being applied to DD suburbans but there will be a delay on T sets at HMC as we are waiting on car number decals to arrive.

Yep, I had T44/45 with T44 having the new logos and fresh paint yesterday evening. The thing that drew my attention to that is it hasn't got graffiti on it, must be the only Tangara not have some somewhere on it! Smile
