Fair enough Matty, living close to the Number 96 line, I was under the impression that we had a monopoly on C2 and D2 class trams (except for special events)... at least until the E Class was introduced.

Does this mean that the Number 19 route will get more D2's when more E Class arrive? (It's been months since any new E class have been delivered.)

Which line (or lines) are likely to be fully converted to the big capacity trams such as C2, D2 and E classes?

* Typo edited. Now reads will number 19 ger more trams...

OK, I'll clarify what changes are going to be made by the E class trams:

The first 20-something E classes will be allocated to Southbank, and will be used on route 96 (and maybe even 112 occasionally). This will mean the D2s will no longer be needed at Southbank, and will be transferred to Brunswick (5001 and 5002 already have) and be used primarily for route 19 (and occasionally 1/8 ), and majority of Brunswick's Z3s will be transferred to Malvern, replacing Malvern's Z1/2s

The rest of them will be allocated to East Preston, primarily for route 86. East Preston's A1s will be reallocated to Glenhuntly, replacing their Ws and Z1/2s, and maybe some East Preston Bs will also be reallocated somewhere.

A1s seemed to be all over the place on route 48 this evening (about 5.30), A1.235 (East Preston) was outbound on Wellington Parade and would have crossed A1.253 (Glenhuntly) a bit further along.

Kew does occasionally borrow a few A classes from other depots, therefore why A1s can occasionally be seen on Kew routes. Same with other depots too, therefore why we occasionally see A2s on route 112
