I got my N set in the mail today. Not bad, considering I only ordered it last Tuesday.
I must say I'm quite impressed with the appearance of them. Finally something nice to put behind a N!

Hope mine arrive soon! Smile

Looking good as. However... I think the silver stripes should go through them blank windows on the BRN, unless some were different.

I always wondered why they had the blank windows there. The BRS cars had plain sheet metal and looked better. I guess the VR just used a standard body shell for the BN and BRN. The BRN didn't appear until the first few N sets were built.

The initial N sets where released as a BN,BN and ACN set. They decided to include a snack bar from sets 4 or 5 so had to convert BN's to BRN as they had not designed them to have a snack bar in the original design proposal. So I believe. Hopefully I will get some pics today of my set and post tonight.

They did bring out the vans  a year ago in packs of two. Now of course  scarce. One negative about the  batch production which is normal these days.  Ebay, 2nd hand the only way to get them now.

BlueGoldEra, how did you take a wide shot, without distorting the picture?

Not related to his pictures, but were (or is) N Class locos attached to N type cars, just a coincidence that both are called N, or was that in some way deliberate?

N Class steam loco of course not related. N class Diesals, no idea, I do not know. Initially  did not think so.

I cropped the photo. It looks better than seeing the wall behind the backdrop. I used a 35mm prime DX lens on the camera so had to be at least 2.5 metres from the scene to fit the train in. This resulted in excessive background so that is why the crop to look like its panoramic.

Yeah I also got mine today too N13, bit disappointed that they have used D335 as it was the only D van in Pass Mk2 and had (still has) a red roof.  also they have removed the blank windows in the BRN, BRN37 still has them window frames to this day.   BN16 has car 'B' plates and should be car 'C'.  The upside-down U for the pull release should be on a separate plate, not the ID plate (on the bottom sill) should also be on both sides not just the B side.  And P,V dates missing on one side.  other than that looks goodo.  oh and the silver stripes on the VicRail and original V/LINE sets definitely should go through the blank windows on the BRN. bit fussy? maybe so, but someone didn't do much homework.

Haha settle down, when you see they have gone to the trouble of making the sliding doors on the ACN open and indeed having the correct door handles Wink its a bit of a shame that two whole window frames are missing.

c'mon people were up in arms about the window colour on the Eureka pass sets!!
