You all wanna know why the system is designed to fail?
Easy answer.
Stupid engineers who are fresh out of University who have NO BRAINS about the real world.
Any platform that is extended from the existing station or NEW station SHOULD be built to accommodate 9 carriages for future useage.. but no, we have a retarded PTV and system

Why do you say that ?

If there Is no need why go to the additional cost, 6 carriages platforms could be a more practical aim.

If a 9 carriages planning rule was Introduced, you could see stations like Lethbridge having 9 car platforms when train services would hardly get any longer then 3 carriages.

Regardless what you look at it. If it's not done now, it will be done later,  our population is only going to grow and not everyone can live close to Melbourne...

I completely agree. Vline are getting on with the job and this is very good to see. A lot more work to do but they should be congratulated for further investing in the network.

I do think there might be some value in a service between Maryborough and Castlermaine which could terminate originate at castlemaine not Bendigo so as to enusre services are delivered without further strain on the Bendigo single line.

V/Line need extra funding for capital expansion. Give Geelong to Metro trains and start investing again on the edge of the network. Electrify the Stony Point line and transfer that rollingstock to other parts of the vline network.

Look to invest further in the Castlemaine to Maryborough projects and trains between Geelong and Ballarat.

Geelong is almost a suburb these days and that is a hard statement coming from a Carlton Supporter. Smile

Now which Geelong line will we give Metro, the one via Werribee or via Tarniet?.............Or how about the one via Ballarat?

From Melbourne to Geelong via St Kilda, Windsor, Elsternwick, Oakleigh, East Malvern, Alamein, East Camberwell, East Kew, Fairfield, Clifton Hill, North Carlton, North Melbourne, Coburg, Somerton, Seymour, Toolamba, Echuca, North Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Inglewood, Dunolly, Maryborough, Ararat, Ballarat, Cressy, Gheringhap, North Geelong.

That should keep them out of the way of RFR.
