Saw that, thanks  Smile

Hurr-de-durr-de-durr, Michael can't remember database table names. Try again.
michaelgreenhill

Yep, that's fixed it.

seems like a problem with posting .pdf links in this thread http://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11375865.htm

Almost looks like the .pdf is missing from the link!

Looks like it's the extra period before .pdf which is causing the problem.

Of the three links posted by seb2351the first has a period after e.g  .pdf_
the second works ok but has brackets
the third appears to be missing something before the .pdf

with the third the .pdf is in plain text colour and not the link colour
Is the display text reduction affecting the link?

This is the same problem as the previous posted links by yoyoman and awsgc24

This annoying 'text last edited' underneath post should be removed. On the old design you could edit text without this being displayed. Why is it included.

'Last edited by on Date Time; edited # time in total.;

Ok, why is it annoying? It's useful.

Also used to be on older versions of RP, I find it useful

Because if you make an innocuous spelling error. Why does the whole world need to know that you have edited the post and corrected your mistake. It is a spelling nazi function.

It was better before when you had unlimited text edits. Similar to disqus

It's quite a lot more than that. Now you can't just edit some flame out.

Because some people have been know to make threats and accusations against others then edit the post and play the total innocent

I would not have told you of the issue if you are not listening. When I posted news articles it would automatically post the images along with the text. Now the images do not display.
wxtre

Copy + paste content from websites with images may work, and only in the RTE. If the RTE is not showing then press CTRL+F5 and check your account preferences.

Copy + paste images from your computer will not work.

Nope. It's staying.

I get the feeling that you feel people are judging you. Nobody here is judging your ability to post coherently based on the number of times you have edited a post. We've been capturing post edits for over two years, and I've just added an interface to display them. That's all.

I may leave the website if this function is used. I am prone to spelling errors and it is annoying being constantly reminded of this.
wxtre
I feel that you're overreacting somewhat to this issue. I wrapped some pre-existing text with a link tag, and nothing else. The number of times a post was edited was there before.

It actually disappeared between RP2 and RP3 for a while...

The new site appears to be stable and working ok.  Some small issues as I have read.  The load times for the site are acceptable.  Slightly slower than was experienced on 3.8.

Well done guys!

Cosmetically, the "Website"  drop-down menu has an option "Platform Statuts" (which links to the status page at https://www.railpage.com.au/status/) - bonus "t".

The status page itself may need a little tweaking - apparently the Railpage Database is "down" ("Can't connect to MySQL server on '203.28.180.15' (111)") which sounds like it would not be a good thing if true.

Because I just used the editing function to reword many of posts and correct spelling mistakes. Now some of posts display that I edited a post 9 times which makes me look like and obsessive. Which I am but I was unaware that it was logging this.

I might delete my posts because I am embarrassed .
wxtre

There is no embarrassment in editing a post many times.  It shows attention to detail and perfection.

Happened twice when selecting new forum posts.

Now seems to be working.
