Thought I'd create this thread to see if can get the ball rolling a tiny bit with TS2015. I've practically moved on to TS due to issues with Win 7 and MSTS, and it's age. Whilst there is a route that I am intending to model, I thought I'd ask, which Australian routes would be good in this game? What would one like to see become available? Personally, I'd like to see a TS version of Coals to Newcastle. That would be incredible.

Of course, we urgently need some Australian rolling stock as well. maybe that will come at some time.

There is a route I have been looking at today called

Australian Content For TS2016 & beyond
I as a Rail fan live in N.S.W. Australia and am kinda bored of all the American and European Routes and Rolling stock. It would be nice and exciting to be able to purchase Australian content such as the InterCity XPT the CountryLink XPT or the Explorer or Endevaour rail cars also would be exciting to see the Western portion of the Sydney Suburban and Interurban route starting at Lithgow in the NSW Blue Mountains to Sydney Central in the City of Sydney plus the Circular Quey Loop with such rolling stock as the S sets, the K sets, the Tangara's T & G sets, the V sets , the old 1940s Red Rattlers, the M sets, the A sets, the H sets, and also would be nice to see the Ghan or the Indian Pacific with the NR class in their respective liveries. Would also like to see scenarios for the route that real train drivers on the route experience every day. would also like to see both Coal and Freight trains with different Locos such as the 81 class the 82 class the 442 class the 44 class the 46 class the 86 class the 42 class and the 48 class all in previous and to date colour schemes and/or liveries. From the first release of Train Simulator with TS2012 to the upcoming release of TS2016 all versions have only ever had American and European content and i believe that adding another continent to their collection more and more people will purchase the Sim and previous owners will have a new found love for trains as they experience wat Australia has to offer not only with the numerous amount of colourful and different rollingstock but also the numerous amount of routes conveying their beautiful countrysides their cities and their scenery.

Nah you got me all wrong i dont mean for the developers to roll it all out at once but over time and over the many different versions if not in TS2016 which the routes have not been released but hopefully and maybe in TS2017 and any future versions i understand that its alot to ask but with so many Australians myself included asking for Australian content on the TS brand and not to mention all the International countries and their people that also play the Sim who want some kind of Aussie content. Can the developers really ignore their faithful customers and not develop some sought of Aussie content.?

I also understand that it will take years before any Aussie content is released or even developed but it would be nice to hear from the developers that they are considering such an idea, and why not they have routes and rolling stock from America, Britain, Germany and China, why not add routes and rolling stock from the Land Down Under. what we need to do is get everyones support in the matter and submit a letter to the developers stating what the Australian people want

I've started work on a short SA branchline to get some more experience with route building. Track is laid, and roads are next. I have 3DC 7 which imports TSM objects, so scenery shouldn't be a major issue.

I might start a thread for it if I get far enough with it.

Every time I see Dean Jackson's photos of this line, it gives me the same feeling. It's a branchline to basically nowhere, but nonetheless, the scenery is gorgeous. Here's an outline of the track, excluding a couple of sidings.

I have been working on a few Australian projects for TS2014/2015. These are mostly for my own interest but I'd love to share when they get to a more complete state.
There are no AU specific content packs that I am aware of. I'm interested to know what others are using. So far I only have the content that came with TS2014 and I really hate it when I find a nice route and then realise I have to spend $100 on dlc to play it.
Please reply with a list of your dlc. If I see a trend then I'll try to cater for it.

I don't generally use payware assets at all. I mostly design my own scenery objects, but I do use the freeware version of 3d Trains Scaleroad for the road lofts, as these are fine and saves me having to create my own. I've put the route I was working aside for now, as it's a bit long for me at the moment.

I'm currently working on a fictional branchline that branches off into an arid desolate area with few towns if any along the way. It's intended to be like the far west NSW branches, but with SA scenery. I've also limited it to a 1 in 80 gradient which made the track laying slightly more challenging, but a tad more rewarding.

Be nice if there was an easier way to get actual content into TS2015 i've a heap of projects i made with 3ds Max but i cant make head nor tails of actually exporting it into the game at all.

You'll need an exporter for 3DS. There's plugins for the program in the dev folder (within the Railworks folder). Go to Steam/Apps/Common/Railworks/DevPlugins.

If you've got that and have the file exported, download RWace and install it. Convert the textures to the ace format (Do not use ace files from MSTS routes, as they won't be recognised properly), place them in the textures folder in the scenery folder within the developer folder (your username for TS2015/whatever), open the blueprint editor with your IGS file in the scenery folder, and fill in the details, export the blueprint with references, and it should be available in the game.

Thanks ARG i'll have to go thru all of your post and see what i can come up with, I do have a fair few project threads in the Trainz section here at RP and getting content into that game i can handle but TS2015 from what i have heard is a completely different kettle of fish lol. Thanks again for the point in the right direction i have all the Dev Doc's.

Not really worth starting a new thread at the moment, but here's a shot of Quorn starting to get underway. Still a long way to go, but it's better than seeing an empty landscape.

There's some power/phone line lofts in the background, along with representatives of the 50 odd custom buildings I've built for this town (some are former MSTS ones, some are new), since RW routes generally require lots of detail to look decent with its more modern game engine.

Another screenie with Quorn a bit more developed, of a vacant block just east of the main street.

I would love to see a Australian content in ts2016 and the generations to come i would love all the suburban and intercity and maybe regional lines to be in TS and also it would be nice to see things iconic to Sydney like XPT Tangaras and Intercitys

Yes, I have this route working in TS2019 Get the scenery downloads from the New Zealand website provided in the readme file, buy the Sherman Hill and Woodhead payware routes "That's It!" I only paid just over $16 for both routes! Don't worry about trying to find the AP Station Freeware Pack assets this is within the Woodhead route Thanks to the user on the Dovetail forums who told me

The only issues I've found so far regarding the Tumulla Bank route is that the steam locomotive I created a freight scenario stopped dead on the track after Georges Plains heading westbound, although it was AI controlled which I've setup so that a player can control it, and I tried for 10 minutes trying to get the locomotive to move! It's either the route grades are just too steep or the locomotive physics aren't right or both

I've also tried making a passenger scenario, heading eastbound and I started driving to go and pickup passengers at Newbridge and just before I even could get to the station the locomotive itself derails! Not sure why exactly

Overall, the route is great at least it's an Australian route But it would be nice to see the route get an expansion, exactly the same way Brian Bere-Streeter done for the original MSTS Tumulla Bank route to Tumulla Bank Plus It seems that all the terrain is there for an expansion to be done but I'm not going to do it, too much work! HA HA HA!!!
