Is the live webcam up?

The reason that /live is not working is because the image is pointing to a password protected page.

Just make a new view only username and no password and it should be fine.

It is not possible to set the camera for no password or non authenticated access unless you use RTSP

There are planned works today at Albion.  We will be commissioning further hardware which will add service redundancy.

During this period there maybe instances where image transmission ceases.

Works completed. Second radio connection to Williamstown has been commissioned.  This is providing an alternate path to Geelong from Albion.

@bevans we appreciate the work not that I actually understand much of what is said.

The images for Albion have been off and on since April when the camera became live.  Is it possible the changes you have been working on will make Albion more reliable and is there news on more cameras from a different angle?

With camera 2 maybe turn it towards the platforms so the morning sun doesn't get in the way?

The firewall rule has been deleted.  We are waiting now for the cameras to be accessible on the backbone as the way to pull images is via ONVIF which the new cameras have.

The second camera looks good.  it has a wider angle than the original camera.  Looks a lot like the hd camera at Bunbury Street?

The images appear a lot darker than camera 1. Can this be adjusted?

See this photo of G531 leading a good train through the camera.

The image is too dark.

The positioning takes in the power poles connected to overhead power?  Can the camera be moved to the right a little?  Also needs to be faced down too much car park?

Comparing the images across all railcams the images from albion2 are rather dark. Comparing Bunbury HD and Stawell Joint HD the images comparatively dark.

Needs some shutter speed changes.

Camera 2 has been adjusted by removing and remounting the camera toward the right of the image.  The camera has also been raised up higher.  We have adjusted the motion detection for the SG and BG and believe we will now get a better outcome.

Feedback Welcome.

Brian can you maybe turn that camera so it looks at the up? zoom it into sunshine and we might be able to get RRL trains?

Which camera ?

Camera 1 already appears to be looking in the UP direction. There is quite a distance between Albion and sunshine looking at google.

Would the camera see that far ?

Further works this evening on Albion Camera 2.  The c am has been pointed down a little.  This now ensures we get less glare off the tin roof in the distance but also now ensures users can see the actual trains in the gallery view.

Feedback Welcome.

I personally believe camera 2 is now about right.  At times during the day and only on sunny days there is some glare from across the tracks. Other than that issue the images look excellent.

I see that camera 2 does not use IR in the night shots but camera 1 does.

is there a reason for the change in modes between cameras?  I personally think the shots are more natural without the need to use the IR function.

The time on camera two has been corrected to reflect Daylight savings time.  Camera one is still an issue and will be resolved by @Michelle12 when she has building access once again.

This weekend will see further planned works for the Albion site:

1. Radio alignment for the re-connection of EMRG and Bunbury Street Networks.

2. Assesssment of a radio link from Albion to Essendon Airport for PlaneCam connection.

3. Preparation for Rooftop PTZ installation overlooking the Main Lines between Sunshine and Albion.

4. Preparation for fixed camera covering the junction of Albion to the Jacana Freight lines (both gauges)

5. 1080p HD Camera installation and commissioning.  This camera will record video.  (This will be installed along side the current cameras and will be used to test the best configuration for the Bunbury Street Camera upgrades.)  Video from this camera will be archived on the new DAMS platform for viewing by Railpage users.
