Of relevance to this forum is the proposed rebuild of Frankston Station. The rebuild is apparently being guided by factors including pedestrian interaction & movement with existing buildings and access, making the platforms DDA compliant, and interestingly making sure the station can be prepared for future electric extension to Baxter. For the rail component of this project the masterplan says that PTV & Metro Trains would like the signalling upgrade to computer interlocking and having the mechanical interlocking completely removed - there are still quite long rods along the western side of the rail area (not sure if they still work). So lots of scope to guide the redevelopment, Frankston Station details are on page 23 of the Masterplan document.
