I regularly as part of my daily exercise walk along the cycle path on Dynon road with the PN terminal on one side and the Aurizon on the other.   It seems pretty apparent given this is the traditional pre-Christmas build up that all operators are picking up business but that also notwithstanding this build up the transfer of Aurizon business to other operators is starting to kick in.  Usually both PN and Aurizon yards are usually pretty empty by around Sunday morning but yesterday whilst Aurizon was still building up a full length intermodal, there were long rakes of empties in the yard.

Haven't see reports on how SCT's 5th service ex Melbourne on Friday's is performing as its only week 2 but appears most SCT trains are now running three locomotives so that operation is well developed.   Hopefully wee'll get a bit more visibilty around SCT's operations but I'd be surprised if they wouldn't shunt a Brisbane train at Barnawatha to pick up northbound loading and similarly southbound drop off's but that of course will be dependent on what SCT feels is best operationall/financially.

Anyway good to see the shuttles running on top of their long-haul service

What time was the train scheduled to leave Laverton as the albion cams might have been able to catch it?

Spent 25 minutes finding any SCT train on the 27th (hell there are a lot of photos) and could only find the UP service from SCT terminal near Wodonga. https://www.railpage.com.au/railcams/albion2/photo/37931593852 which is heading in the wrong direction for the MTP.  In the November MTP shows no train from Laverton via Tottenham to Albion (via SG) for a north bound departure.

Could be changing days or stopping on a Friday?

The 2MB9 Service appeared not long ago at Albion.

Looks to be a healthy train but only 2 locos it would appear.

Yesterday's 1BM9 when sighted at Maldon was a relatively short train boasting only a single locomotive (CSR3)

It was running about an hour behind the usual time.

Thanks for the info so one of the locos must have come off near Wodonga?

May be a bit of confusion here.

I think bevans is referring to 2MB9 i.e. northbound and with 2 locos.

What I sighted at Maldon was 1BM9 i.e. southbound and with a single loco.
