One for those interested in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its future which according to this article is questionable.

Is it a coincidence that the two abbreviations CCCP and CCP are so close? (Yes I know CCCP is actually written in Cyrillic alphabet).

The official English translation of the party name is the Communist Party of China, so CPC is more correct than CCP.

The equivalent to CCCP (an orthographic copy of the acronym for the Russian language name for the USSR) for the CPC would be ZGGCD, coming from the party name 中国共产党 and its pinyin (Romanised notation system for Standard Chinese) version Zhōngguó Gòngchǎndǎng (Zhōngguó = China, literally 'Middle Kingdom').

An even more amusing coincidence than CCCP and CPC is the Australian use of CPA, which can mean both a Certified Practising Accountant and the Communist Party of Australia.

You never needed democracy to get rich.
Had those in power within Russia and China allowed democratic changes and implement land ownership reforms communism would have remained a marginal ideology as it became in countries which implemented political and economic reforms.
