The corona virus COVID-19

Not everyone deserves mourning, certainly not everyone desires mourning.
Only if they're Pol Pot or Stalin. But saying someone's death was 'delicious' just because they didn't take the vaccine is plain vile. If I'd said something like that there would have been people on this board calling for me to be kicked off - and rightly so.
No, on the contrary, if you had said an anti vaccinator who internationally sprouted smeg’s death was ‘delicious’ at least for me would have made me wonder a) how you managed to taste the corpse, and b) for how long you’d been a closet cannibal.

We are smiling at the timely demise of a person who intentionally tried to mislead hundreds/thousands (even tens or hundreds of) towards a ‘treatment’ that to even say was based on pseudoscience would be a stretch.

He put his (literal) faith outside of science and as it always is, science showed it is always right, whether you believe in it, or not.
Aaron
Pathetic, facile response from you. I would have expected way better.

Omicron marks the official end of this thing, the virus has done exactly what evolutionary biology dictates and has become more contagious and less virulent - which is exactly what they're supposed to do. This is the end of the 'pandemic' - there's no more excuses for masks, lock-downs or vaccine mandates. This is the pointy end of the virus now.

If anyone in power argues for more lock-downs or restrictions then they're just desperately trying to hang onto the fear that has allowed them to get away with their tin-pot medical dictatorship to date. This thing is OVER, it's run its course.

Sorry, not even going to open that link.

I'm just smiling at the fact that he can no longer enjoy the taste of ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine, but my unexpected tipple of schadenfreude this afternoon is absolutely delicious!
Despicable thing to say. Would you like people to say things like that about you when you die?
Let's compare that to what you said about the future and actual passing of one Robert James Lee Hawke, back in the day.

Betcha deny it now.
I said dictators were different.

Smirk your way out of that one.

You've poked fun at people who are vaxxed getting the virus. You thought it was hilarious that people who followed the instructions of the health community still got a diease that can cause life long complications, and has killed millions worldwide, because it suits your perverted anti-establishment conspiracy theories.
I don't think I've ever done that, Billy - and I bet you won't be able to find any examples of me doing it either. I don't rejoice in the suffering of others, mate.

And you're a religious nut-job who believes in Illuminati conspiracies, Billy.

Five millions deaths with COVID globally in the last two years sounds like a lot until you realise that nearly a million people die of HIV every single year in Africa - and that's completely preventable, it's a matter of access to medicines and corrupt African dictatorships. When was the last time you ever heard anyone champion that cause?
don_dunstan
No, the GLOBAL death count for HIV/Aids last year was 680,000, which is nowhere near a million:

ONLY 680,000? Mea culpa, I'm sorry for under-estimating the death toll from a completely preventable disease by 320,000. ONLY 680,000... my God how did I get that figure so dreadfully wrong?

That makes all the difference then. Let's just ignore the HIV fatality rate ... those people definitely deserved it (somehow).

Until the full benefits of the vaccine are reaped, there is a case of encouraging people to get vaccinated. If the vaccine blocks transmission, then vaccinating children is especially important.

Well good evening I am not going to come to the Covid thread ever again.

I note you have the word "Pandemic" in brackets as if it's not really, of course it's a pandemic, it has affected all parts of the globe and has killed Millions, way more than the official figures will suggest, you are going off too early in relation to Omicron, but I do agree with you that so far it is turning out to be less of a danger.

Talk about a double standard, you confused ‘delicious’ and ‘smiling’ but you expect better of me? Please, I have not taken my brain out of coast mode in response to your posts in years now. My posts to you are generally, quite literally, just how my mind rolls, don’t get excited thinking there’s effort in them.

Omicon is behaving exactly as viruses are supposed to do in evolutionary biology and is dying out - note how the pedantic anal retentive Aaron didn't try and challenge that statement. It's because it's a hundred percent right.

This virus was always going to become less virulent and more contagious - therefore much less of a danger - and nobody has bothered to explain to the public that was what was expected because it will diminish the power that they have over you. That's how Spanish Flu petered out - that's how they always disappear - eventually.

Anyone like Dan who believes that greater and more onerous powers are needed to control this non-existent threat is just pulling the wool over the frightened public's eyes in an effort to make them believe that they and only they can save you from it.

Rubbish!

In 2012 the figure was one million adults and children dying every single year in Africa from HIV - Dosomething.org. Thankfully it has gone down since then so I was a few years out of date.

Are you really that desperate to score points off me that you'll trivialise the deaths of people in Africa from HIV in order to win an argument?

What a big man. Give yourself a medal.

Why would you do that? there's no public record of any such thing, and I believe, on the contrary, he had a reputation for being a 'ladies' man'. He was certainly a known filanderer at the end. This combined with his avowed alcoholism mean that I have little respect for him.

As for wishing him a miserable death, which seems to be wat you did, I wish you'd make up your mind about death. Is it such a horrible thing that laughing about somebody's death is an abomination, as you have recently suggested to Dirty Ballast, or is it nothing more than predictable fluff, unworthy of causing anxiety, as you have suggested to IsraelFan on several occasions?

No, that's not what happened. He was a prominent public figure - not some random who didn't take the vaccine. I didn't call his death 'sweet' or 'delicious'. And I held off saying what I really thought of the man until he'd been dead for more than a year out of respect to the people on this board who bought the bullsh*t and still thought Hawke was a top bloke.

But Don, you constantly remind us that we're all going to die anyway, that it's not worth getting anxious about, so why would you care if he laughs at someone's death. You might as well get outraged because he laughed at somebody who had lunch, or did one of the millions of other things that we all do at some point in our lives.
