The corona virus COVID-19

But Don, you constantly remind us that we're all going to die anyway, that it's not worth getting anxious about, so why would you care if he laughs at someone's death. You might as well get outraged because he laughed at somebody who had lunch, or did one of the millions of other things that we all do at some point in our lives.

If you really believed that Billy then why were you so interested to know what I'd said about Bob Hawke's death three years ago?
He's just outraged full stop. At everyone. Because he's a loser.
Dirty Ballast
All you ever do is work relentlessly to get a rise out of me - and when it doesn't work you just keep buzzing away like the blowfly that you are. And you're extra annoyed at me this weekend because I caught you out calling some random's death 'delicious' for the simple fact that they weren't vaccinated.

Again, despicable. You sound like a right piece of work, you know that don't you.

Because I'm going to keep reminding you of the fact that you celebrated the death of someone for no other reason than they weren't vaccinated. Which kinda runs directly contrary to the holier-than-thou humanist narrative you love to spin for the folks here, doesn't it sunshine.

Going on international evidence, no one has been in hospital at all because of this Omicron strain of the virus, which seems to be a good indication that this is indeed a weaker strain of the virus, this is good news.

Our Chief Health Officer here in SA (Professor Nicola Spurrier) wanted to shut the borders on Saturday due to the 'unknown' scary nature of Omicron - but she was rolled by other people on the transition committee who said 'wait and see'.

The people who have these powers simply don't want to give them up is the problem - I really don't think Prof. Nicola Spurrier wants to go back to being an obscure public servant on six figures telling everyone to get their flu shots. And I don't think she's the only one.

You're out of your tree.

I demonstrated that I was not unhappy that a RWNJ religious zealot who disbelieved the best medical science, favouring his own 'treatment' that he believed was superior instead, and who tried to get others to agree with him, succumbed to the virus. Show me where I said theat I celebrated his death FOR NO OTHER REASON than the fact that he was unvaccinated?

Just like I have demonstrated that I dislike f-wits, whether they are coincidentally intellectually challenged like you or not - it's not the disability, but the f-wittery!

Spoke to a transport business owner from SA on the weekend who was in Melbourne for a week. He says people in SA are starting to lose their smeg now that COVID has started seeping in and was shocked how little people in Melbourne seem to care about COVID circulating and the fact basically no one is taking precautions anymore.

Two years of lockdowns kinda makes people start to not care.

Mr. Lane
Most Vics have just learnt to live with the virus and get on with life.

Omicron also might be the variant we've been waiting for - highly infectious but low severity.

Also worth noting they are currently developing a combined Novavax - Flu vaccine.  Could be a winner.

Instead of owning your ugly words and moving on, you try and justify it by saying he didn't believe in the same things that you do - therefore he deserved it. And then you throw in the intellectually disabled insult at me - yet again - for good measure.

Most people would stop digging but not you, your determination to win is pathological.

We were really fortunate that we had hardly any exposure to the virus here except for that lying pizza delivery guy last year telling everyone it was transmitted though a pizza box.

If Omicron really doesn't make anyone sick enough to go to hospital - and evidence from overseas so far is showing this - then we really need to encourage its spread through the community so that people (vaxed and unvaxed) can get exposure to it wiping Delta out. The trouble is that we've let these Chief Health Officers have way too much power and they seem to only have one thought which is the potential risk to the community is too great - a few people COULD die. But I think that's just a risk we have to take.

In 2017 (as I recall) we had a really bad flu season here in South Australia and around 800+ people died. It didn't even really make the news - why is COVID so manifestly different that ANY death is unacceptable? We just have to manage it like we do every other disease - it's high time we got back to normal.

Ummmm, no.  128 deaths in SA from the flu in 2017, 1255 in the whole of Australia:
https://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/Lookup/by%20Subject/3303.0~2017~Main%20Features~Deaths%20due%20to%20influenza~5

Covid is different to the flu at the current stage of the pandemic.  And Omicron might move it towards being less risky than it has been.

Well I did qualify it with 'as I recall'.  Now that you've forced me to find the figures it was 2019 that has been the worst flu year here in recent history with 428 deaths in South Australia but some 4.124 nationally.

Interestingly we didn't have a single flu fatality in the winter just gone.

The article falls over almost at the first line - ‘bio security surveillance’? Surveillance! That’s why they want us to wear masks! So that facial recognition … oops.

The picture? Not likely to be true. Consider it, now the supermarkets in Germany need TWO locations of every product? Two sets of staff?

I don’t know what that alleged divider is for, but without further evidence Ockham’s Razor says it’s not for what you think it’s for.

That is as likely a reason as any at this point.

Judging by the balloons, it may well be a photo taken on the opening day of a newly built or newly renovated section, the fence just being taken down at the time of the photo.

Starting in January next year, the vaccine will also be available to those as young as 5, we should see infection rates drop then.

Turns out the barrier in question is not ‘in’ the supermarket at all; it’s the demarcation between the supermarket itself which unvaccinated people are not allowed to enter from the concession type outlets (pharmacies being just one example) in the centre which unvaccinated people are allowed to shop in.

In Australia we call such a demarcation ‘a door’, (or entrance if you prefer), given that there is already a physical demarcation in Australia between supermarkets and pharmacies, et al.

This chap should change his tune once in a while. Bleating incessantly about 'health dictatorship' and 'coronazi' probably won't do much for his academic career. There's literally nothing else on his Twitter feed. Although truth be known, I imagine he's an imaginary health ethicist, the people's health ethicist operating outside the stuffy confines of ivory towers, beyong old-fashioned notions like answering to The Man, a free willed journalist reporting the on the ground truth, like a million and one idiots these days.

And just because he has labelled a photo or a video doesn't mean his label is true. If I label this one 'unvaccinated put in a box in Moldavia', it doesn't mean that's what it is.
