B Sets Testing on Eastern Suburbs Line?

Checked through the TOC waivers earlier and found a TOC waiver that caught my attention.

The TOC Waiver is titled: Restricted Movement and Testing of Sydney Growth Trains (SGT) B Set cars on the ESR

Are there any more details on this? I know that the B sets were originally going to be stabled at Mortdale, but this changed to Auburn when the train was delivered.

There is another TOC waiver for B sets running between Waterfall and Helensburgh, so does this mean that we're finally going to see B sets in revenue service on the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra lines?

Since when were B sets ever set to be stabled at Mortdale? This is probably just procedure so that it could be done if needed and this says ESR and not the Illawarra line.

The original plan did say Mortdale. But when the B sets were delivered, they were instead allocated to AMC as it made sense to keep all the Waratah trains in one place

Probably need to be tested on all lines, but that doesn’t mean that they will operate on all lines in the near future.

Didn't the substations along the line need upgrading before the line could operate with the waratahs?

The overhead can cope with one or two on the entire line, so rare occasions are fine. It's when you have regular waratah operations there do things get a little heated

As said, it can handle one or two Waratah sets. Any more and the power sources need upgrading. The lack of upgraded substations for the T4 line is why there are so many Tangara sets running on it, to the point they occupy all suburban operations for said line.

I can’t even think of when an upgrade would be rolled out, considering the T set-only presence has been a thing since 2013 when March that year saw the last S set roster for the line.
