If we get a second wave because people won't stay home from work while sick, it will be our own fault. If we want people to stay at home, we need proper protections for workers, ALL workers.

What if the last bus has a demand of 13+ passengers?

Uggh, it's going to be a traffic nightmare, encouraging more, myself included, to use public transport. Shame because I have been enjoying the cheap petrol and empty roads.

The NSW Government has added the bike lanes and car parks to encourage people out of public transport, the NSW Government says.

There has been a update by the NSW government. From today, only 32 people are allowed on a suburban train carriage. 12 people are allowed on a bus. And 42 people are allowed on a ferry. This is not confirmed, as the NSW Government has not said anything about trams, and is only in calculation with 4 square metres of space per passenger. That 14 people will be allowed to sit on the L2 and L3 tram, and 12 standing. And only 7 can sit on a L1 tram, with only 6 standing. This is starting from today, Monday, May 18th 2020.

The numbers stated above will vary slightly depending on each bus and its seating configuration. Drivers have been advised not to directly enforce these numbers, but to tell passengers when the bus is "full" by these new standards. In the real world, what we'll get is some drivers that enforce it and some who don't.

Physical distancing on anything other than a bus or ferry (i.e. trains, metro and trams) is practically impossible to enforce. Even if the police went onto a crowded train carriage, how could they give out fines if they can't tell who was there first?
