Is there a list of the exact numbers of the exact models of trains still in existance on the Vline and suburban network?

V/Line's addenda has a complete list of every vehicle that is permitted to operate on their network. It can be found at their corporate website, with the Network Service Plan.

Here is a link:
https://corporate.vline.com.au/Network-Access/Network-service-plan

Click on the Addenda (half way down the page)

Bear in mind, it includes EVERY vehicle permitted on the V/Line network.

This is probably a more accurate source:

https://vicsig.net/suburban/?page=suburban

This takes you to suburban cars but other lists cover most other things.

The official lists tend to keep obsolete information.

Thanks for the link. One vehicle class I was unable to find was NQIW.  It may be that I was not careful enough but if they are missing from the list can anyone advise what happened to these.

NQIWs don't exist nor have they since the National Rail days in the early/mid 1990s when they became RQIWs. They were a two TEU container flat whose original intent was as a never built coal hopper.
The wagons, whilst theoretically great (light weight, low deck, high speed, high load capacity), had Gloucester bogies which were unsatisfactory due to a dished centreplate design which caused/failed to correct wagon list. I think that this problem was ultimately rectified by modifying CCSB capacity (constant contact side bearer).

A reminder that there is a loco database on here as well. i'm guessing its fairly accurate still.
