What I'm saying is that PN is not perfect either. No loco should catch fire if it's kept properly clean and well maintained.

And freight trains should not run hours and hours late if all is going well. How many PN trains run to time?

I don't agree. I'm just tired of arguing.

Troubled times at the Ridge . Has anyone else noticed that Pacnat is looking to compete directly with QR on the coalroads in QLD ? Would the supposedly informed realise that NRC's lease on Acacia Ridge ran out some years ago ? ACCC ruled that all states and territories MUST have open access . I wonder if QLD Govt is elated by other operators say for example O'Donald Duck Rail delving into the lucrative coal transportation busines . Governments are staffed by mature logical people so there could be no chance of sour grapes on the part of the QLD State Govt . Still , it is unusual that the origional lease could never be renewed . As far as Pacnat loosing business or customers goes think again . They apear to be axeing inconvienent stuff ie low proffit high effort traffics . Inconvienence dosen't pay . To improve efficiency on the Sydney Brisbane route the infrastructure has to improve . On the coast thats difficult and very expensive to do for topographicle reasons . Should have kept the old Main North And developed it better . One more time for the dummy's , the most powerful locos pulling the longest trains dont work well with single lines , short loops , hundreds of small radius bends , and sacred houso packed XPT's . It all comes back to dollars and votes .
