Dincha know? Mt Thomas is one of the central rail hubs of Victoria.

You could really see Blue Heelers' demise coming when they stopped chartering trains to have the crims mess around near, and started just standing next to the Champion Rd level crossing as a pass went past.

ENTWINED IN FILM
Flinders Street Station, Glen Waverley Station and our trains are featuring in Entwined, a film being made by an RMIT student, with our support.

A few months ago, Diploma of Screen student, Ed Armstrong, approached our Marketing gurus requesting assistance with a short film he was directing/producing for his course.

He was also hoping to screen the film at local film festivals.

Ed was given the green light and following lengthy talks, work began last Friday morning at Flinders Street.

Filming of the light-hearted romance has continued this week with the film crew quickly adapting to the movement and motion of moving trains.

It's hoped the film will make its debut at next year's Tropfest film festival.

Theres a kath and Kim episode where they film a down M train comeng at the New/Dendy St rail crossing, just up of Brighton Beach i think. Then it shows them on an up Siemens going to the races. Think you get shots of Balaclave and Ripponlea.

You can hear M>Robot announce a station softly in the background of that scene - I forget which station it was now though, but definitely on the Sandringham line.

Yes the Claratyne ad certainly looks like a comeng inside, but the station announcement that is made sounds a lot like Cityrail Wink

They go out of their way in that episode to cover up where they are. It was on last week or so, and there are varying shots all over the Sandy line. Everytime they pulled into a station the camera would change angle so as the station name couldn't be seen. The reason you probably don't recall what station the M>Robot announced was because that is muffled/muted. From memory they also use the Comeng door tones when they pull up at stations. Nobody would notice though except us gunzels! I have a feeling the reason they try to cover up the station names is because most people do know the order of stations and it might have issues with continuity. -- But the fine changes are only noticed by a small few, boring people like me!

There's an advert for the Sony PSP that's filmed in the Degraves subway.

I'm not sure if it's on the TV yet but I saw it being filmed.

The movie 'take-away' has some shots of either fairfield, Alphington or Darebin stations, and in some scenes you can see what appears to be a Comeng.

There was an ABC documentary made in 2003 called "In the Realm of the Hackers". It's about a group of Melbourne teenagers that learnt to hack computer systems in the days when 28.8k modems were awesome upcoming technology.

It features the typical "walking reflection" shot, as one of the subjects walks through the Degraves Street subway reflecting on his crimes. I recall there being a Hillside Trains banner there; considering the shot would've been filmed in late 2002 at the earliest, that would've been removed/replaced by a Connex one not long after.

Sorry that this is a bit late, but is "Dunt railway station" in We Can Be Heroes actually filmed at Lara station? V/Line N sets can be seen departing there.

I think Angry Boys (Dunt) is filmed in Little River.  Guessing the station is Little River station.

Also, while we're on the topic, I remember an episode of City Homicide where a body was found near the Bunbury st Tunnel, and another episode where a body was discovered dumped in the grain sidings at Kensington.

Might be able to find it on the railcam!

I went past this week when I was driving around for work and I think I spotted the camera that points at the tunnel.

Steamrail workshops at Newport for the scene where Nicolas Cage first changes into the Ghost Rider and where he was supposedly "crushed" up against the front of L1169 (Texas Eagles livery). Also the same setting for the original music clip for The Living End's "Roll On".

not sure if this was mentioned but in series 2 episode 2 of Wilfred (original Australian version) the second scene is filmed on a V/line train. I was going to post it here but it has highly offensive language.

The bit in the trailer of "Killer Elite" at a station is Parliament.

And We Can Be Heroes/Angry Boys "Dunt" is definitely Lara.  My Mum used to work at the General Store opposite Lara Station and was there when it was being filmed.
