Experience in a customer service environment, particularly regarding face-to-face contact with customers as well as a demonstrated commitment to providing high quality customer service, is a key element of the position.

Experience in handling customer issues and using initiative to effectively handle difficult and adverse situations.

Experience in an operational environment.

Experience working autonomously.

Desirable knowledge and experience include:-

Sound knowledge of safe working and emergency procedures, to ensure the safety of customers and the provision of a quick and appropriate response to emergency situations.

Knowledge of the relevant aspects of the Passenger Transport Act and Regulations and Conditions of Travel.

Experience in Passenger Transport Board ticketing and associated equipment.

Please note that Train Driver positions are one of the most sought after positions and that these are likely to be filled utilising internal staff for some time.

Limestone Coast Railway - Thanks jm1941

Please Note: The Limestone Coast railway have ceased running services as of the end of june 2006.

The LCR currently running: Penola, Kalangadoo and Tantanoola.

To Penola: 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.
To Kalangadoo or Tantanoola: 1st and 3rd Thursdays and tied in with the Hotels for afternoon tea or lunch.

The 300 class redhen most of time works to Tantanoola on its own (to give it a run) and while passengers have dinner or afternoon tea, the 300 redhen heads to Snuggery and turns on the old Cellulose triangle just past Apcel paper mills as the 300 class is only driven from one end. They pick up passengers on way back to Tanty.
Passengers can if they like stay with the train while it goes to Snuggery and around the triangle, is interesting to see the Apcel Paper mills as you go past.

The 400 class redhen works to Kalanagadoo or Penola, if too many passengers (usually only club wingdings) they use the 300 and 400 together.

Lions Club Of Yorke Peninsula Rail.
www.ypr.org.au

The organisation was formed in 1992 to preserve and operate the line. The first train to run was in 1994. In 2003 the YPR merged with Lions club to form the Lions Club Of Yorke Peninsula Rail this was done as the old organisation was unable to afford public liability insurance.

The Lions Club of Yorke Peninsula Rail run toursit services between Wallaroo and Bute using either Red Hens or the SuperChook set, for running time please refer to YPR Website.

RE: Closed stations

Was there not also Holdens(Grange line where the double track becomes single between Woodville and Port Road) and also was there a Mile End Passenger and Mile End Goods?

Also there was Tube Mills between Kilburn and Dry Creek.

I follow Van Berloism. What did you put on your Census form?

MIle End Passenger is the station that is now known as just Mile End. Mile End Goods was located by the Sir Donald Bradman Drive bridge.

However all of your closed platforms have been since removed - whereas the platforms already shown as closed are still existing.

Just a couple of other corrections I have noticed:

STA services to Northfield ceased in 1987
STA services to Bridgewater ceased in 1987
Henley Beach was closed in 1957

The Adelaide Suburban System Construction Timetable is good because it includes several long-forgotten sections like Grange to Henley Beach.

It could also include some other suburban branches, which are missing.

Ascot Pk - Tonsley (still operating)
Albert Pk - Hendon
Woodville - Finsbury
Port Dock Station - Pt.A. Junction
Holdens branch at Elizabeth

The last four only had trains at industrial peak hours, but there were several departures in each case. E.g the 1965 Working Timetable shows 4 round trips on Hendon branch in morning peak and 3 round trips in evening peak (M-F).

Sorry I don't know opening or closure dates of these lines.

Also, there was the branch to ICI Osborne.

Port Dock was opened on 21/04/1856 and closed13/09/1981.
Hendon was open on 03/11/1940 and closed 01/02/1980.
Finsbury branch was opened on 16/09/1940 and closed 17/08/1979.
ICI Osborne services last ran on 01/01/1980

The Tonsley brach, I believe was opened sometime in 1966, and IIRC, GMH Elizabeth closed in 1992.

I'm not crazy, M'Lynn, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years!

Re 2000 class. The weight of a 2000 is shown as 76tonnes on the official plans I have. The current motors used are replacement motors, the original motors were MAN flat 12s of 512hp, the original Rolls Royce 6 cyl Genset motors have been replaced on at least 2 cars.

Hi

Could someone please update the details for running times for the Overland? It is quite out of date and may mislead.

The last number is the operator of the trains. PN has quite a few though! 8 is for GSR, 9 is for the SCT runs, 6 I 'think' is for the QRN services over the hills. I am not 100% sure about the last one though.
