Actually, the operator is designated by a letter following the train number i.e. 5AM6A. This last letter is not used in communication, but usually appears on documentation.

There is a set of jumbos now that arrive at Salisbury at 7.24am and then go on to the siding and return to Salisbury as the 7.34am Adelaide train.

2101 and 2005 or 2010 do this every morning (mon-fri)

You can remove 2006 from the 'withdrawn from service' list now Very Happy
and some/all of the 'Four Trailers are stored at the moment'

TA have been running Jumbos as all stopping trains on the Gawler line, still working out exact times at the moment.

I did note 2112 and 2006 at Salisbury on the 15:29 service (which turned into the 15:33) heading to Adelaide. That would have meant it ran the 13:17 from Adelaide to Gawler Central and then ran the 14:58 from Gawler Central to the City.

What would be behind the extra jumbo usage on the Gawler line lately anyhow? They are unsuitable for stopping services as well all know

I will be getting the 4:20pm train from Gawler to Adelaide stopping Smithfield-Elizabeth-Salisbury-Greenfields-Mawson Lakes-Adelaide.

Thank goodness that this is not a jumbo operating this service, I need to get this train so I can then transfer to the Outer Harbor or Grange train to Bowden station, I will walk from there to Hindmarsh Stadium to watch my beloved Adelaide United play with about 12,000 other people.

The 3:57 Gawler Central train to Adelaide (stopping all stations) better not be 8 or so minutes late again or I will complain to the TA staff when I get to Adelaide. Mad

Last Thursday there were only 2 other people on the carraige that I was in when we departed Mawson Lakes.

Then you'll just make yourself even later. It will take you 8 minutes just to complain.

With the worst of the summer heat coming up in January, brace yourself for much more frequent late running

Last Friday the 4:20 train from Gawler to Adelaide was only 5 mins late this time. The train slowed down when it reached Islington. Trains from Gawler Central should only stop all stations in the early mornings and at nights not at 3:00pm-5:00pm.

There will be a report on channel 2 (ABC) at 7pm tonight about the metting that disrupted the train services, and I was intervied on camera (I am wearing a grey T-shirt and no hat)!

Enjoy Laughing

PS, the current TransAdelaide logo, and the current South Australia logo are the same as each other, and should be changed with a different design

Since I posted the first Jumbo timetable for the system on the 15th of June last year, there have been a number of changes (obviously most of these are on the Gawler Central line). Since some services commence at Gawler and Gawler Central, I have decided to list the new Gawler timetable by departure time even though some services commence at the northern end rather then in Adelaide. Hi all,

My long standing avoidance of Jumbos is finally over! Last Friday (08/08/0Cool I caught the 5:37pm Gawler Central train to Elizabeth in a 3-car set. I sat in the trailer (at the front of the leading trailer). It wasn't that bad, except there was a slight ringing noise for the whole journey.

I DON'T hate jumbos now Very Happy

Congratulations Smile That ringing noise would either be the new vigilance control system being fitted to all railcars or one of the fluro lights tubes just about due for replacement.
