PROGRAMME FOR ULTRASONIC TEST CAR NO.2 (SPENO)
(TO BE WORKED UNDER BLOCK WORKING CONDITIONS)

CANBERRA - BUNGENDORE
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 19
2M72 (Speno 2 On track) will depart Canberra 0650 hours, (Recording), Queanbeyan arrive 0745, depart 0750, Bungendore arrive 1010 hours, (Off Track).

PROGRAMME FOR ULTRASONIC TEST CAR NO.2 (SPENO)
(TO BE WORKED UNDER BLOCK WORKING CONDITIONS)
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 20
2M72 (Speno 2 On track) will depart Bungendore 0750 hours, (Recording), Tarago arrive 1000x, test Up loop, depart 1030, Joppa Junction arrive 1310, off track, on track, depart 1350, Up Main Line, Goulburn arrive 1440 hours, (Off Track),

But what does the machine do exactly? determine the strength of the track?

It tests the rail for cracks.
