X50 has been to Canberra a few times since it was repainted, but mainly seems to run to Dubbo.

Cheers

Where is a good place to photograph trains in Canberra? Where do the oilies actually depart from?

The oil is stabled in Canberra yard and can clearly be seen from Cunningham street, which is the one that leads to the ARHS ACT depot. The Xplorers sometimes can be seen in the new refueling facilities at the end of the Station sidings. You can stand little more than 5 or so metres from them

FA ran the Canberra, Dubbo and West Tamworth oil trains. They are still run by "FA" for contractual reasons. If they use a "PN" loco, on paper they have to hire them from PN R&B.

Rumour that tonight's oily (ex-Sandown) will be X-X-48. Appreciate any confirmation.

Cheers
