Chris, you may be able to help, but at what times does FA's Sydney service department Melbourne and from where, and what time does the Melbourne service depart Sydney?

Regards,
Brian

This is from the NSW point of view,

It leaves from CRT Altona,Vic and goes to CRT Yennora,NSW and vice versa. It leaves Yennora every weekday between 12pm and 2pm with a single G or G/X.It comes back to Sydney and arrives at yennora around 8-8:30am.

Another NSW view

Junee Driver change:

Melbourne bound arrives 10:00pm(stays for 20-30min because of BM & MB NR services crosses)
Sydney bound arrives 10:40(stays for 1-2min only for Driver change)

Times may vary if they are early/late.

Do FA have a brisbane - melbourne service as yet? FA seem to be attempting to develop the interstate market where they don't have to use capital to maintain track. Victorian track is falling apart, so i guess they will try and capture interstate business?

No not yet, the other problem with a Brisbane-Melb service is that the transit time is a bit too slow when compare with trucks
