I had heard the possibility of electrifying to Gerringong if it is cheaper than building another diesel set? Anyone else heard that?

I believe that it was on the cards of the RIC to extend the electrification of the south coast line all the way to Bombaderry, and that the first stage was to Kiama, and the 2nd stage to Bombaderry would follow later. Has anyone else heard that/have any updates?

Dapto-Kiama electrification was done w/assistance from Federal Government Federation Fund (i.e. Year 2001 projects), otherwise I think it was a bit further back on NSW's priorities (if there are any for rail Razz). As for Bomaderry-Kiama electrification, I doubt that would get up considering Costa's recent comments re:money spending etc etc etc.
