Hi Adam
I Was Told If You You Place Your Hard Drive In The Fridge
For An Half An Hour A Quick Place Back On To Your Computer.

First Makeup A Named Folder On Your C: Drive
Second Open Your Troubled Hard Drive And Select All, Copy And Paste All The Files To C: Drive

Or The Other Ways To Go To Your Bios And Do An Auto Hard Drive Detect. Once Again

1. Place Your Hard Drive With Your Good One But Make Sure That You Good C: Drive Is On Primary Master And You Troubled Hard Drive Is Primary Slave Or Secondary Master,Slave In Your Computer

2. Turn Your Computer On And Hold The Delete Key. That Should Put You In Bios,

3 Go To Your Main And It Will Tell What Hard Drives Thats On Your Computer. Scoll Down To Hard Drive Setting And Set All To Auto Except Primary Master (Leave That One Aload) And Hit Esc Key.

4 Still In Your Bios, Go To Auto Hard Drive Detection And See If It,s
Picks Up Your Hard Drive,

If You Trouble Hard Wont Detects And If These No Life On The Hard Drive It;s Telling You That I,m Ready For The Bin.

I've never heard this one, but then I've never tried it either. Wink Anyway, I definitely wouldn't try this until you've run out of other possibilities.

If we plug it in the coputer wont boot. we did a check on it with the old computer and it has "corrupted sectors that cant be reparied". its only 2 bloody years old. it has all my train sim, photos and other non-replace able stuff.

Know anywhere where they can extract the data off it?

Just looked up January's Pc-World and there is an advert towards the back.

Hard disk recovery services ($30/hr)
Clean room facility for hard drive repairs ($90)

HANTRON DATA SERVICES (HDS)
246 Victoria Road. Gladesville. NSW. 2111
Tel (02) 9816 3879 or FAX (02) 9816 3784

I run 3 hard drives and a burner in my PC mid tower and use Norton's Ghost imaging and also I have 4 more removable hard drives in caddies for C: and D: drives. You cannot have enough backup. EVER.... especially IF it's very IMPORTANT DATA..... to you. 10 years with computers does teach you it is not worth the risk.
When I first started with Pc's I used conner dives, but last 7 years I only use Western Digital and only once, 3 years ago one pancaked after 2 months use, was told a crook batch, was replaced and everything was up and running again in 15 mins, and had no hassles with HD's since.
Let this be a warning to you...
