I ran one over the previous version, with no scenery. Very nice route, but I havent got round to installing the new version. It looks fantastic. Smile

I've run over most of the route now with my D50 - which I'm hoping Yuri will put on his site soon - and a train of lch's

Nicely/smoothly laid trackwork, no major glitches, lots of trees and some good slopes. only a few buildings and roads. (I do find the water a bit bright Smile )
Just as I remember the area.

I'm hoping Peter will add a little more detail along it's length in future versions, e.g. slight variations in the ground textures, just to keep the interest levels up.

Definite possibilities for lots of activities.

2 AD60s haul 1200 tonnes of coal towards Fassifern.

Same train pauses at Cockle Creek after a spirited run from Fassifern.

Steam is a relic to me (not that I don't like steamers Wink). I just get more nostalgic over 1st generation diesels, because
these are what I grew up with. Cool Lol, I'm only 22 and I'm already sounding like an old person... Shocked

As for the route, its OK. Obviously not finished and it being based in the 50s and 60s means there is phsyically less on the route. No Broadmeadow and Cardiff is just a tin shed! It does have potential. Staging point of Wyong is a good idea as at a time that was limit as electifcation went north.

Port Warratah is even more of a nightmare now than it was in the beta ! However.

For demonstrating the concept of an improving short north line it is fine, and coal from newstan/wangi to warratah is possible.

Also possibility for activities is great.

Running a passenget on the line I could get over the speed limit eg 120/130 but nothing too drastic, certainly not 200, so I guess thats ok.

Yuri's pic towards_fassifern.jpg would look like a pic from the 60s if the track was banked, garrat wasnt blue and the image tweaked, maybe film effect.

The 1st generation diesels in NSW were withdrawn before we were born, enough said Very Happy Your shot of 42s with BCHs even more proves the point, old person's memory !

The 42's were withdrawn a couple of years after I was born. Razz Anyway, the 44's, 45's & 48's were still around in the tuscan livery. I just haven't made a model of one of these, so the 42 will have to do! Razz

Anybody know if the Brits have made a Great Central 8K/ROD for MSTS? Although they were restricted to RVR's lines, they wouldn't look out of place in front of 30-50 LCHs.

Cheers

There are three ROD/8K/O4 variants on UKTrainSim. There is a clean GCR version, a dirty ROD or War Department version, and a clean BR version.

I'll post some screenshots in a few minutes.

The dirty ROD version is pretty much spot on for Richmond Vale. :)

Nice! A piece of Richmond Vale history lives again.

Unfortunately I'm not up at 8pm British time so I can't download one for myself. :(
