Lately there has seemed to be a large amount of tourist opperations being forced to close there doors. The number one killer seems to be public liability insurance. It is a shame that after so much effort from members and the general public to get these museums and tourist railways up and running they are beeing squashed by greedy insurance companys. Many railways have shut down and many others just making ends meet. What can we do to get this problem addressed by people who can make a change? I myself am an active member of a number of tourist railways and after all the hard work that myself and fellow enthusists have put in to keep opperations running smooth it would be devistating to see it all go to waist. What can we do????????????? Does any one else share my views about his topic? Any way i wish all the best of luck to all fellow rail enthusiests to keep or get up and running there railways.

i would like to say two things i would like to say:
the insurance crisis hasn't affected us so much, at least we are still running, but the insurance now costs us alot more then it used to. i think the state govenments should pay for the bulk of the premiums in other states, like the vic government has, hence no closures in victoria Very Happy

and as a Railpage Australia™ moderator, can you please change your sig? we (the mods) don't like seing that sort of stuff about other posters, inspite of what others think of them.

Regards,
Craig Walton
