Hi all,

I've been adding even more detail to the model tonight. Shocked I'm also doing GM34 with the coat of arms on the nose. Cool

mmm

just two things

* can you fix the hand rails on the nose door

* why a16c , and whats the difference between 7 and 16

http://locopage.railpage.org.au/anr/gm.html < says a7 for 12-47 and a16 for 12-47 (later)

whats the difference and when made difference, maybe all had dynamics fitted as a mod ??

maybeyour CR one be a7 since its CR era ?

Would you mind telling me what's wrong with them? I've got a photo of GM32 and they look as if they're in the right position.

According to an aritcle in Australian Model Railway Magazine, GM12 - GM29 are A7's. GM30 - GM47 are A16C's.

Model designation:

I was aware the last 15 had dynamic brakes, wasnt sure of the model number of that batch. That is cleared up now due to your reference.

As for the handrails I think there are nothing wrong with them, just that there is heavy aliasing on them in your englarged screenshot.

You could get rid of all aliasing using FSAA but that defeats the purpose of showing off a model in such a way that would represent how it would look for the average user.

Now I see what you mean by the MU connections, more recent ASR units and GM36 have them in the nose, funny how I have never noticed that before.

Just remebered a photo that could help you with the CR model

Only visible difference is the disc on the nose ??.
The photo shows how accurate your textures are.

There is also David Langley's photo of ANR liveried GM23 at Seymour Box in 1989 in the Ausloco files>clipboard section but that is not the era you are modelling.

I can vaguely remeber downloading a pic of a GM in the 70s at maybe Tottenham or Dynon, I can try to find it again if you want/need it.

Thanks.

SRHC must have the colour for the badge wrong. Confused I've been basing my textures on GM36.

Hah, Oh well.

Yeah well the maroon shade on GM1 looks different as well.

Have a look at the GM1 50th birthday photos at locopage.Railpage Australia™ gallery. It could be the fact that those are digicam pics not scanned however.

Dont rivet count ! Your textures are magnificent regardless.
