You May Have Redownload It Again, Sometime I.S.P Do Lag And May Cause Errors In The Files Specially When You Are Using Dialup Internet

I also got the error at 68% of the way through installation. I downloaded it again the following night and still got the same error at the same spot. I get a message similar to "Installation has been unsuccessful, you will need to run the utility again"

Joel, where you like me and downloaded the installer after the Railpage Australia™ problems? I am wondering whether this may have anything to do with it as well?

Hi guys.
The problem is obviously with your download. not the installer.
I transferred my gnr directory to test download & it is spot on.
try installing getright which will ensure that you get the download
uncorrupted when an interuption on download takes place,

Whislt I am on dial-up I did download twice, both times were uninterrupted or anything like that. I will try again tonight and see if there is any difference. Both downloads both stopped installing at exactly the same location.

Just checking - do you mean the files that have been installed, in part, under the trainsim folder? I'm pretty sure I can find them if this is the case.

I agree with Gallop3, Getright is a very good downloading tool.

With Getright no more downloading problems. Laughing

Some info about GetRight (info from GetRight's web site)

The banner ads have been removed for a over a year, and as of November 4, 2002, the optional Twisted Evil Gator software in the installer for GetRight has been completely removed from GetRight's installer.

GetRight contains absolutely no extra advertising add-ons or advertising systems.

GetRight contains no extra programs tagging along in its installer.

GetRight will not (and never has) send us any personal information about you or your computer without your knowledge.

GetRight will not connect to our web site(s) without your control and a reason useful for you. (Checking for a newer version and searching for mirrors for now.) Wink

I deleted the GNR bulldogs folder in train sim and on again downloaded the install file from steam4me. As with the previous times there was no trouble downloading. As with the previous times, the download stopped installed at file "GM27 CVF" at 68% of the installation.

Although I am on dial-up, I feel it is more then conincidence that the download has stopped installing at the same location each time.

I hope I don't sound critical of anyone or anything, i do appreciate the responses to date. I don't intend to be critical, however having worked previously in a technical support environment I know from first hand experience having access to all information is a great help.
