From Gheringhap loop sightings, Friday 28/11
9791 D CNT'S 0153 (0058) G5XX INC, 10 SQUARE CEMENT (I THINK) WAGS. 49W S/G
From Gheringhap loop sightings, 21/11/03
9791 D CNT'S 0034 (0018) G542 INC, 10 GONDOLAS. 33W S/G
and return on 22/11/2003
9792 U CNT'S 0210 (0004) G542 INC, 10 GONDOLAS. 40W S/G

What is the reason for the 'unusual' extra loading on the Fastrack services? The gondalas have been running for an odd couple of runs and this is the first (that i have herd of) use of square cement wagons - anyone know why they are being used???

These square wagons could have been the ten ballast wagons that have been stored at Murtoa since about June.

On the evening of Wednesday the 26th of November they were moved from Murtoa to Dimboola, hauled by a single G class loco, and by the Friday morning they had disappeared - probably on 9792 the previous afternoon which would correspond with Gheringhap Loop's sighting.

I cannot shed any light as to what the gondolas are being used for.

Thanks simon. Wouldn't it be more sence to leave the ballast hoppers in murtoa, or even if number 4 road in horsham was clear, to stick them in there - the road closest to the goods shed?

Could the gondalas be used to transport scrap metal from somewere?
