I don't know if I'm the only one who's noticed thius, but the black "shape" on the nose is sort of a cubist rendition of NSW. I can only guess from the that SSR won't be operating in any other state. Am I wrong to assume this?
Mr. Anderson... surprised to see me?

I kind of like the design but I will hold out untill I see it in the real world.
Dynon is but a kooee from here so I wil see it soon no doubt.
There is only one way any building or object or structure could collapse strait down. You would have to remove the resistence below it.
The force of the building pushing up is greater than that of the part of the building falling down.

If I recall correctly, the brief section in Motive Power mentioned SSR as having contracts for shunting at Botany, Yennora, and some trip train work (perhaps between those too yards?).
I guess that if the GNR contracts in Melbourne haven't been switched to someone else, SSR would probably inherit those too.

GM22 is already out and about, on lease to ARG filling in for failed GM45. It was at Bomaderry this morning.

What happened to GM45, and when did it fail.

Further to my earlier comment| MotivePOWER magazine wrote: | The new SSR business will continue to provide metropolitan shunting and other services to Pacific National, Patrick Portlink and Interail.
In early January, SSR also commenced providing hook & pull services from Rail Infrastructure Corporation work trains. |

I don't really know John... Firstly I wasn't in Australia during Freight Victoria's reign, but I would have to assume that comment was a little sarcastic
Secondly, I am only guessing due to the emblem of NSW on the nose. You are probably right though. If the money is offered, I'm sure that SSR will operate to Melbourne and beyond.

If the money is offered, I'm sure that SSR will operate to Melbourne and beyond. | Freight Victoria was the name given to the privatised V/Line Freight. When they started operating interstate they changed their name to Freight Australia. So the name (emblem) was (perhaps is) intended to indicate the state of operation - until such time as they decide differently.

I can see it now:
GrainCorp CEO: We'd like to lease your locos to haul our bumper grain crop.
SSR CEO: Awww, but we'd have to change the logo!
