It's no longer a rumour! B80 is leading X53 ex-Clyde tonight.

I'm hoping to motorcade from Queanbeyan to Bungendore. I've asked Alco King to put the B on the front on the up too. Very Happy

Cheers

According to Alco King, B80 is working the oil train to Canberra out of Sandown tonight (19/1/04), he said it would lead.

How did the train handle with 500 less hp than you're used to?

Cheers

And if so, to what schedule? The STN has the 3801 Ltd trip departing Canberra at 17.30.

STN0320 says that 2194 will not run on 24/1. Also no 1293 on Monday 26/1.

Is there an oil train ex-Clyde tonight, and if so are the locos laying over in Canberra until Tuesday? IIRC this is what they did on the Queen's Birthday long weekend last year, and ended up returning as light locos following SP20 on the Tuesday.

Cheers

Ok here is the deal. Firstly, the B is about 500hp down on a regular X but we reduced the load from 20 tanks to 17. She went like a dream so smooth and quickly. Didnt miss a beat all the way. It would be capibal of hauling 18 or 19 tanks no worries.(20 is about the maximum load for 2 X's). Unfortuniatly, due to track work around Sydney, Chullora, Two X's need to run to Canberra for fuel for sundays Dubbo job.(dosn't make sence does it!). We are still coming to Canberra tonight (Friday) but wont Crying or Very sad have the B. It will be back on Monday night. We will leave after the 44's.

Since B74 is on the gauge, if it and B80 ever go on the fuel train make sure they are 1st and 2nd units!
