It seems to be more than a rumour this time.

Expect an announcement this Thursday regarding Connex and Yarra winning the new contracts.

Nope, like the trams are meant to be, the companies will be run seperatly, just under the one name. The only reson that I can think of where you will see train on opposite lines is for maintenance/testing.
