According to Win Canberra News on the 25th March 2004, the morning
Canberra – Sydney Xplorer service will return on the 3rd of May 2004,
after the battle over the shortage of staff crisis August last year.
Under the new schedule, the morning Xplorer service will run on every
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departs at Canberra station at
7.05am (To be confirmed the departure time later on and not sure about
Sunday).
The return service from Sydney to Canberra will run on every Monday,
Wednesday and Friday (To be confirmed with the new departure time).

This is a great news for all ACT, Queanbeyan, Bungundore and southern
highland passengers; please support your rail system, by travel on a
Countrylink train.
I am looking forward to see this train running again, and I'm looking
forward to get on board soon.

The news isn't as good as it sounds. It's still not a day return.
Cheers

I have heard another news report that we get the morning up on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat and evening down on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun. This solves the problem of overtime which was the real reason for cancelling it.
Cheers
David

Note how this "so-called" good news happens just before the axing of the Murwillumbah XPT to Casino. This is only to mask the axing of the M'bah Line. Possibly to get the ACT leaders on side so they can have there eyes glued to something else.
