How about a "butterbox" E-class electric? You could pinch the power rating, bogies, pantographs and controller from a Tait car if someone's done one. If they haven't you could make them available for someone to pinch.

Some data:
Starting tractive effort 24000lb; continuous 14160lb; speed at continuous rating 16mph
Max spd 40mph; wheel diam 42"; bogie centers 18'; bogie wheelbase 8'6"; length over couplers 38'8.5"; over buffers 38'8"
Height to center of coupler 2'11"; to center of buffer 3'5"; Height to roof 12'6"; height, pantograph lowered 14'2 3/8"
Axle load 13t 15cwt 2? (above from Newsrail Apr 84 p100)
Length 11.95m, Mass 56t, Electrical equipment GE, Traction motors GE 237A, Power 460kW/600hp, Tractive effort 108/63kN, Speed 65km/h (Locopage)

'Ave fun!

Hmm good but err although I have read through the stuff I would like something "simple" although Mjja if you get me plans and more detailed specs I could give it a try when I get a bit of experience.

Try the tutorial wagon. It really is useful to get used to the program and the way it works. Once happy with the running result, play with textures on it a bit. When happy, try a more accurate wagon, but don't rush it.

My personal advice, build what YOU want and don't be discouraged if it isn't right the first time. If need be, throw it away and start again. It usually results in a better vehicle (voice of experience)!

Stuart

Re the E - that Newsrail had a diagram, and there are photos around. The mag will be 50c at ARHS sales or $1 at AMRA. Or I could lend you mine if we ever get around to meeting up.
