An UP Tocumwal train by PN passed the albion cams this morning and has just been seen via the HD at Bunbury street.

Recent workings seem Pn are working more and more out of Totty as the port is congested.  The 9102 is also terminating at Totty and is broken up and worked into Melbourne in chunks.  there is a lot of freight around at present.

Qube were running S313-T386-T356-T395-B75 BG goods to Tocumwal this morning.

Freight volumes appear to be increasing for the better and especially on the BG.

Seems like plenty of justification to enhance the rail network into the port then....  Where is that $50m odd that has been approved for this sitting now?

Sounds as though it is a nice size train.  Shep yard must be getting a little bit of a work out.

Not seen the PN Tocumwal service a long time.  Looking back through railcams for Bunbury Street seems it has been missing for a while.

Why?

Reports on FB (Victorian Rail Enthusiasts) suggest its suspended due to volume.

No containerised grain and no hay for PN. Qube running to Mooroopna/Tocumwal twice a week, loading out of Tocumwal is cheese. Plenty of room for anything else available.

Aren't PN interested in any other commodity?

The cheese does this come from Strathmerton?

You cant move it if it doesn't exist.  The drought is not confined to just dryland areas.

What other commodity?
Qube had a contract with Murray Goulburn at Cobram, possibly still have with the new owner of MG.
PN had the contract with Bega at Strathmerton. Possibly now on the Qube train.
Not enough rail traffic out of Tocumwal for 2 operators at the moment and as Qube are running to Mooroopna might as well to let them have Tocumwal freight for now.

Qube running today probably instead of tomorrow. (Cup day in Vic). 5 x 20' containers ex Tocumwal. Locos G532, G521. Empty cement and a handful of containers at Mooroopna.
