Locations

Chullora, NSW

Located on the Hume Highway. Location is only good if trains are parked in yard. Weekdays there is a bit of action there as well. Parking is in Murry St, (From Enfield). Good spot, you don't have to wait for hours, you just have to drive and have a look. The spot is good in the morning and good all day on a rainy day.

Moss Vale, NSW

A great location to catch all types of traffic heading both north, south, east

Dry Creek motive power depot, SA

Central hub for motive power in SA. Good spread of SA, WA, NSW and VIC locos.

Dry Creek North Yard, SA

Good views of east-bound trains

Dry Creek Station, SA

Views from the platform of trains in both directions

Tighes Hill, NSW

Tighes Hill is a great place to photograph and observe trains, in particular coal trains, between the coal fields and the Port Waratah and Carrington areas.

Tottenham Yard west, VIC

Accessed via the Tom Obrien park, there are good views of up and down trains.

Brooklyn Junction, VIC

Brooklyn Junction is a major destination on the Newport Brooklyn Freight Line. The junction manages a number of sidings and also the triangle between the Newport line and Tottenhan Yard and Melbourne to the East or the SG only flyover to the west and Sunshine. The SG flyover is used by trains transiting from the North East to the South West and vice versa. The junction has dual track (on Dual Gauge) between Brooklyn Junction and Newport. The area is controlled by ARTC and Victorian Centrol.

Penrice Quarry, SA

Tight views due to tree growth of trains loading at the quarry.
