Missed a few locos. Seen photos of DL and EL class leading west of Broken Hill on a fairly regular basis for some time in the early 90s.
Also double 45 class west of Lithgow and even seen double 421 class but this only lasted for a vey short time they were allocated on a trial basis to the west. 85 class electrics also.
Basically any loco could be drafted into duty to help when a loco failed.
Certainly the most common locos were 46/85/86 class electrics east of Lithgow. 44/80 class west of Lithgow and then GM/CL/L class. CLP and NR
