Nothing would surprise me in Local Government. I have first hand experience trying to get a subdivision approved. At one Council district I worked in the Shire Engineer owned the local quarry from which all road materials were purchased. He purchased the gravel, supplied it and invoiced the council and was paid after he certified all was in order!Hello All,
that is a bit unfair"Neilfarmer" , after all, he was only ensuring that the product met the specification, was sourced locally, employed local residents, were delivered on time and on budget, that all the paperwork was in order , and that there were no discrepancies. By owning the said quarry he ensured that all was present and correct . And he cut out the middleman ! What is there not to like ?
