I am inclined to pass the staff to Steve who obviously knew where I was talking about and also developed some better clues.
Thomas Alison Scott founded the sugar industry in NSW (maybe also in Australia) on the shore of Brisbane Water. The station at T A Scott became TASCOTT and long survived the end on cane growing on the Central Coast.
