807 was one of ten 650hp diesel electric shunters built for the South Australian Railways by English Electric at their plant in Rocklea Queensland.
When this image was taken at Gillman Yard in May 1987, under the ownership of Australian National it was the only member of the class not to have been repainted in AN's corporate green and gold colours.
