[ABC] Services back on schedule after rail death

Victorian Rail NewsTrain services have returned to normal between Swan Hill and Bendigo, after a fatal crash at Bendigo yesterday.

A man was killed when he was hit by a Melbourne bound passenger train at California Gully yesterday morning.

Passengers made the rest of the trip by coach, and traffic was blocked at the Nelson Street crossing for more than two hours.

V/Line's Daniel Moloney, says coaches were also used between Bendigo and Swan Hill for two more services, while the scene of the crash was cleared up.

"We had just 87 passengers aboard the train affected and they were moved eventually through to the road coaches to continue on with the journey," he said.
