Woman on tracks rolls to dodge train

A woman narrowly escaped serious injury after falling onto railway tracks in Melbourne's east earlier this afternoon.

The woman is believed to have fallen over on the platform at Jordanville station before slipping onto the tracks, Connex spokesman John Rees said.

The woman avoided being hit by an oncoming train by rolling to one side and lying underneath the edge of the platform, Mr Rees said.

She was taken to Box Hill Hospital in a stable condition.

The incident caused no major delays to services on the Glen Waverley line.
