Walk the Line - Rail Revival Alliance sponsors a rally on Sunday 8th December at the Carisbrook Railway Station at 2pm calling for the reintroduction of passenger tail services between Bendigo, Ballarat and Geelong
A rally at Carisbrook next Sunday will call for the restoration of rail services between Bendigo and Geelong.
Set for 2 pm at Carisbrook’s dilapidated and disused rail station the upcoming Walk The Line rally is being organised by a group calling itself the Rail Revival Alliance.
Among its members, local engineer Noel Laidlaw believes resurrecting the line can be done at far less cost than the government-funded $2 million Rail Revival Study report released in June suggested.
Mr Laidlaw has done an alternative set of costings to back his claims and Central Goldfields Shire Council, along with mayors and CEOs of surrounding municipal regions are among those taking notice.
