Even second Sunday of each month, Hornsby Model Engineers open up its railway to take children and their families on train rides.
The first train to depart leaves at 10am and the railway closes at 3pm, but may close earlier if there is little demand.
It costs $8 for adults and children get in for free to enter the site, and the train rides cost $2.50 per person.
There is a variety of trains that operate on the railway, including locomotives and steam trains, and the trains go up a hill as part of the route.
Before or after the train ride, people can have lunch in the picnic areas, grab food from the canteen or sausage sizzle, and check out smaller, stationery train models.
People must wear enclosed footwear to get on the train.
People looking to come later in the day are encouraged to call Hornsby Model Engineers on 9653 1630 to find out when the trains will stop operating.
