As part of the modernisation of Melbourne's tram network, Yarra Trams and Public Transport Victoria are repairing tram tracks on Balaclava Road in Caulfield North.
The work will take place on Balaclava Road between Kooyong Road and Rosemont Avenue.
Tram services will not be affected by this
work.
Timing
From 8pm on Sunday 12 July until 5am on Monday 13 July 2015.
Benefits
Worn and broken tram tracks on Balaclava Road require repairing. This track work will improve safety for everyone, deliver a better road surface for tram passengers, and less tram noise due to potholes, broken rails and wheel squealing.
Supporting local business
Yarra Trams is working closely with Glen Eira City Council to minimise the impact of this work on local traders. For any specific concerns regarding access to your business or property during the works, please call 1800 800 007 (6am-midnight).
Motorists and car parking
Road closures will apply on Balaclava Road between Kooyong Road and Rosemont Avenue. Detours on surrounding streets will also be in place. There will be no on street parking on Balaclava Road between Rosemont Avenue and Kooyong Road from 7pm Sunday 12 July for the duration of the works.
Residents
Residents living on or just off Balaclava Road with no other vehicle access in and out of their properties will be guided in and out of their property by traffic controllers. Please be aware that some delays may occur when accessing and leaving your property.
Noise from machinery, vehicles and work crews is unavoidable but Yarra Trams will do all it can to keep this to a minimum.
