Closure of Newcastle rail stations not technically a closure of whole line, State Government lawyer says
On Thursday 28th May 2015 until further notice, the line between the END ARTC CONTROL – BEGIN CRN CONTROL interface sign located at Camurra West and Weemelah STOP BLOCK at 762.800km will be booked out of use and track patrols suspended due to infrequent train services.
General arrangements All work must be carried out in accordance with the relevant JHR Network Rules and Procedures.
The line between Camurra West and Weemelah will be booked out of use on an Infrastructure Booking Authority form (CNRF003).
A STOP BLOCK and STOP sign will be installed facing down rail traffic on the Weemelah line at the END ARTC CONTROL – BEGIN CRN CONTROL interface sign located at Camurra West. Operators wishing to operate train services between Camurra and Weemelah should lodge requests to the JHR Network Access Planning Officer – Long Term with at least 14 days notice.
When requests are received, the JHR Network Access Planning Officer will arrange for a track patrol to be conducted and the line booked back into use via a SAFE Notice and Infrastructure Booking Authority. On completion of train services, the line between Camurra West and Weemelah will be booked out of use via a SAFE Notice and Infrastructure Booking Authority.
