Steam locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Skipton and Ribblehead on Sunday 22nd August 2021.
Flying Scotsman is hauling The Waverley on Sunday.
The railtour departs York with British India Line at 09:44 bound for Carlisle, where it will pass through Church Fenton (10:01), Micklefield (10:10) and Cross Gates (10:21) before a stop at Leeds (10:30).
From here, the train will pass through Shipley (11:02), Keighley (11:19) before another stop at Skipton (11:35).
After Skipton, the train will head for Hellifield Goods Loop, passing through Gargrave at 11:42. After a stop at Hellifield, the locomotive will steam up the Settle and Carlisle line and through Ribblehead (13:16), Garsdale (13:30) and Appleby at 13:52 before stopping at Langwathby at 14:10.
From Langwathby, departing at 14:20, the locomotive will steam through Lazonby & Kirkoswald (14:24) before arriving in Carlisle at 14:45.
After around 3 hours in Carlisle, Flying Scotsman will depart Carlisle at 17:34 bound for York. It will pass through Lazonby & Kirkoswald (17:59) and will stop for water at Appleby (18:21).
Continuing down the Settle and Carlisle line, Flying Scotsman will pass over the Ribblehead Viaduct at approx 19:14, continuing to Settle, the train comes off the Settle and Carlisle line at Settle Junction (19:27) where it heads for Hellifield, where it will arrive at 19:33.
After departing Hellifield, the train will make stops at Skipton (20:01), Keighley (20:16) and Shipley (20:28) before arriving into Leeds at 20:50.
From Leeds, the train will make the short hop to York via Cross Gates (20:59), Micklefield (21:06) and Church Fenton (21:12)
The railtour will arrive back at its final destination of York at 21:26.
